Ionic Fan

There are a lot of ionic fans available on the market that each have their own distinct set of advantages and disadvantages. For the most part the fan setting works like a very high quality fan. This is of course speaking for the Spire and Ionic Breeze styles fans. They look nothing like a traditional fan like most people are used to looking at. They have a tall tower like shape similar to their ionic air purifiers. Traditional fans have a tenancy to only blow hot air around rather than every cooling it off. This is especially true in very humid environments. Because of the way this style of fan is designed they often work much better and can make the hottest most humid air lower in degrees considerably. The ionic settings also help freshen up a room considerably. Most of these fans simply have a negative ion generator somewhere inside their housing which you can turn on and off easily. What this really does is clean the air to an extent as it runs through the fan and it makes the air seem more crisp and clean.

Finding a ionic fan can be quite a challenge depending on where you live. This isn't exactly the type of thing that you can find in most stores. Department stores usually don't carry anything quite like this and in the rare occasion they do I have noticed that they are of considerable lower quality than the ones which you can find at other stores. The only place I have ever seen a ionic fan was at a sharper image store in a city quite a way away from where I live. I believe they only had one or two in stock and of the several models the company makes they only had a few. It was pretty clear that it isn't the type of item they move often.

So, unless you have a store like this nearby the best place to look is either in a catalog or online. A lot of the major online stores carry several options and they can be had at a very reasonable price. I have also found that while reasonable, the price is also considerably lower than the ones I have seen in magazines or in stores. Granted this can change from brand to brand very easily and doesn't always ring true. I find this to be primarily because online stores want to undercut the competition and they can do it because they don't have a middleman between them and the final customer. It works out well for both you and the company.

If you are going to buy an ionic fan you need to remember that some people with certain lung conditions cannot handle to be around them. Some studies have shown they can cause serious headaches as well. It is important to understand this issue and make sure the ionic fan that you buy fits the description of what you are looking for and won't seriously effect anyone in your family.
